Month End Glossary

Creditors

Creditors are individuals or entities to whom a business owes money, usually for goods or services received on credit.

Creditors are individuals, organizations, or institutions that a company owes money to because of goods or services they have received. For example, if a business obtains inventory from a supplier but hasn't paid for it yet, that supplier is considered a creditor. Creditors are typically short-term liabilities recorded under accounts payable on the balance sheet. Managing creditor payments is vital to maintain good supplier relationships and stable cash flow.
